September Reads

So, September has come to an end. This month I did a lot of listening to audiobooks via Hoopla app (not sponsored post). There was many books I finished, however there are quite a few I started but didn’t finish for various reasons. Additionally, there are books I read sample pages and look forward to reading eventually.

Books I’ve Read

How Successful People Think by John C. Maxwell, This book I listen to as an audiobook. I would throughly enjoy reading again in a print copy. It was an insightful read, about the different ways we can think about problems and life.

The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, This book was suggested reading by a co-worker. It came into play a lot in my life in deciding what to pursue as my next step and approaching unknowns. I use a lot of the things I learn from this book this month in my decision making process.

Life-Giving Leader by Tyler Reagin, I have been recommending this book to other since I began reading it. It is full of gold nuggets of wisdom about how to be a life giving leader. Most people are either life-givers or life-takers. Reagin also talks about how your uniqueness is a welcome aspect in how you lead. He emphasizes how being aware of who you are and how you operate in important aspect in learning how to lead and be life-giving leader.

This is the Day by Tim Tebow,  If you can see a theme in the books I have been reading lately, this book was a continuation of learning to be actively present in today. In being presence it is being aware that each day presence an opportunity to be a blessing as well as to pursue the dream on your heart. It is an encouraging read and a great reminder of how effective consistency can be in pursuing the dream.

Haven’t Finish Reading

I’m Judging you by Luvvie Ajayi, I have listened to her Ted Talk. I am an active listener of her Podcast with Yvonne O. I enjoy listen to these two women. Listening to the podcast always makes me small, and I alway learn something from what they share of their lives. I totally appreciate these women, and its the reason I will eventually finish her book. She is probably judging me right now…

Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink, I started reading this book based on a recommendation of a woman I follow on Instagram. From what I read thus far, it has been a good read. It may take me a bit longer to get through it than other leadership books I’ve read thus far, but it is still a worthwhile read.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoloen Hill, I began listening to this book around the same time as the previously mention audiobooks that I finish. I got more into the other books than this one. I may finish this one eventually, but I already started a few new audiobooks that have spark my interest more than this one.

Not Just a Mum by Folakemi Sebiotimo, I read a sample of this book and just haven’t got my hands on a copy of it yet. It is a collection of stories from mothers who are more than just a mother. It is a honest look at the different ways women balance the many things that can be on their plate. I was intrigued by what I did read, and it is on my list to finish.

Books To Read

Theses are books released in September, that I want to read but I haven’t gotten a copy of it yet. Soon I will be reading:

Hope in the Dark by Craig Groeschel

Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking Biscuits by Reese Witherspoon

Didn’t see it coming by Carey Nieuwhof
